From the 27th to the 29th of March the Global Young Greens meet for the third time for their international congress. This year the congress takes place in Dakar, a few days before the Global Greens will also hold their meeting. Almost 100 young activists from all over the world have come together in the Senegalese capital’s football stadium to discuss green global topics.
Who are the Global Young Greens?
Since 2007 the Global Young Greens are a network of young green organizations and activists from all continets. Climate change, worldwide social injustice and the enormous potential for international conflict resulting from it are our topics. Building a network of young, green-minded people from around the globe is the foundation for finding sustainable solutions to these challenges our generation will inherit.
What happens at the congress?
The congress is a unique chance for us to get to know each other and each other’s organizations, discuss, argue and exchange viewpoints. We hold dialogue sessions and conduct workshops on topics ranging from campaign management to sexual and reproductive rights. We see our congress as the basis for carrying green ideas out into the world.
